You can take your waste and recycling to one of our transfer stations. Note that transfer stations charge for waste disposal, but recycling is free.

Please note that transfer stations are cashless; only card and account payments are accepted.
Remember to transport your rubbish safely:
- cover your load
- sort your recyclables in advance
- separate your green waste from the rest
- make sure you have your load weighed.

The garden waste drop-off site at Otaihanga is operated by Composting New Zealand.

Composting New Zealand made the commercial decision to close the Waikanae Greenwwaste drop-off site. Their last day of operation at the site was 15 July 2022.
Residents who wish to dispose of their greenwaste can still go to the Composting New Zealand drop-off sites in Ōtaki and in Otaihanga. There are also greenwaste collection services available.
