Apply for an interment
Apply for an interment if you need a burial or ashes plot now.
- Complete our online cemetery interment form – you'll automatically be emailed a copy of your submission, once you have successfully submitted the form.
- For natural burials, you'll need to complete the Conditions for natural burial and agreement form [PDF 212 KB].

Interment booking deadlines
We process and approve cemetery bookings during working hours:
- Monday–Friday
- 9am–5pm
If you’re requesting an interment for the next day, submit the online form and contact us straight away.
For a Monday interment, we must receive your application before 3pm on the previous Friday.
To confirm your booking, we need all required documents at least 24 hours before:
- a casket burial
- an ashes interment.

Apply to install a plaque or monument
You need our approval before you install a memorial, plaque, headstone or monument at one of our cemeteries.
Complete the apply to erect a plaque or monument form.

Interment service times
We hold burial and ashes services:
- Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm
- Saturday, 9am–1pm.
We may be able to arrange services outside these hours, including on weekends and public holidays.
Extra cemetery charges apply for special arrangements.
Regulations
All burials and ash interments are carried out in accordance with the Burial and Cremation Act 1964 and Council's Cemetery Bylaw 2016.
