The timeline outlines achievements so far and indicative dates for the group.

2011

September
  • Introductions, agree process, work programme etc
  • Understanding the current and future cost of water supply and maintenance; costs needed to recoup.
October
  • Confirm the criteria and process for evaluating and assessing an appropriate volumetric water charging formula.
  • Identify the range of water charging options to be explored.
  • Examine experiences/lessons from other districts and internationally
  • Preliminary identification of charging options to be evaluated against the criteria.
November
  • Confirm and scope volumetric water charging options to be evaluated against criteria; identify any further information required.
  • Evaluate charging options against criteria
  • Select recommended volumetric charging formula

2012

February
  • Fully develop recommended volumetric water charging formula
  • Prepare draft report and recommendations to Council
April
  • Final report back to council.

2015

December
  • Council resolved to reconvene the CRAG to review progress on water charging in accordance with the initial recommendations.

2016

January - March
  • CRAG meet four times to review the progress against the original recommendations and matters arising since the implementation of water metering
March
  • Final review report delivered to council.

2019

January - March
  • CRAG will reconvene to review the progress against the 2016 recommendations and matters arising since the implementation of water metering
March
  • Final review report delivered to council.
