Precautionary boil water notice lifted for Hautere/Te Horo residents

16 Oct 2025, 1:21 PM

Following a negative sample result today, Kāpiti Coast District Council are pleased to say the precautionary boil water notice for the Hautere/Te Horo public water supply has been lifted.

The notice was put in place on Wednesday 15 October as a precautionary measure following a routine sample returned a positive reading for bacteria (1 E.Coli).

“All samples have returned results showing the water supply is safe, with no signs of contamination.

“Residents who access this supply no longer need to boil the water that comes out of their taps as a precautionary measure. We thank them for their patience and due diligence”.

Hautere and Te Horo residents who access the public water supply to top up their tanks are advised to call the Council on 04 296 4700 or email [email protected] if they have any questions or concerns about their supply.
