Ōtaki Cemetery monuments

Following a recent inspection of Kāpiti Coast cemeteries, several monuments at Ōtaki Cemetery have been identified as unstable. While owners are generally responsible for maintaining monuments, many of the monuments are old. We don’t have details of current family members in many cases.

In accordance with monumental regulations and in the interests of staff and public safety, these monuments will be laid down. We have put together an ongoing programme of work to repair and re-erect the affected monuments.

For any enquiries regarding these monuments, please contact us at [email protected].

Ōtaki Cemetery, set on 3.9 hectares of semi-rural land, is the oldest cemetery in Kāpiti and the first to offer natural burials.

Hours: Gates open at dawn and close at dusk.

Location: End of Anzac Road, Ōtaki.
